I graduated from Texas A&M University-Commerce with a Master’s degree in Counseling and Guidance. I have been working in the mental health for more that 20 years, helping adolescents, adults, couples and families. I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder and chemical dependency, utilizing a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach and utilize individual, family and group therapy to assist people in their journey to health and wellness. My experience enables me to offer effective individualized, outpatient psychological care.
Kyle Freeland, LPC-Associate, supervised by Angelo Abella, LPC-S, graduated with a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Texas at Tyler. Kyle has experience with adolescents and adults across the lifespan. He’s worked with people in acute crisis as well as those managing challenges related to figuring out who they are, spiritual identity issues, grief and loss, career stress, and familial and relationship problems.
As a two-time cancer survivor—first as a child, second as a young adult—Kyle brings an insider’s perspective to the fallout of chronic illness. As someone who understands just how much physical health battles impact mental health, he knows that even when your health improves or an illness ends, the journey is not over. If you struggle with depression, anxiety, loneliness, isolation, trauma, or stress caused by an illness or have been affected by the illness of a family member or friend, Kyle wants to come alongside you. Using an empathetic, supportive, and engaging therapeutic process, he’ll encourage you to do more than just survive your illness, he’ll help you learn to thrive.
The goal of therapy is to help clients manage their lives more effectively and increase their ability to cope with their problems and develop new opportunities for hope and change. We believe that our clients have the ability to significantly impact their own lives. However, it is not a simple task to make life-long changes. It will take much commitment and work during sessions and even outside of sessions in order to accomplish the emotional and behavioral changes you desire. Our focus is to help individuals heal and find peace.
We provide counseling to clients across the lifespan, from adolescents through late-adulthood. Counseling sessions can be for individuals, couples and families. Wherever you are in life, we are here to help.
